Community Fund - How the fund works:
Every time a Co-op member (you have to be a member with a card, which costs you £1 to enrol) shops at the Co-op, 1% of what they spend on Co-op branded products and services helps fund community projects. Members can shop at any Co-op Group store across the UK to raise money for us.
This also includes the online Co-op Electrical store, the Insurance business and Legal Services.
You can choose which cause to support (once you are a member) by signing into your membership account https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/28352 or by calling the membership helpline on 0800 023 4708.
Our cause will be available to select until November 2019.
We will then receive 2 payments as part of the Local Community Fund, in June and November 2019.
Please spread the word to all of your friends, to help Northenden get this funding, at no extra cost to you or anyone else! This is an absolutely brilliant way of helping our funds grow, and put back into the local community.
First phase (see plan drawing) is priority, so we can start to put plays on in our new venue.

Plan for the NEW theatre on Church Road, Northenden
(site of the old Northenden Library) Jan 2017
£200k ‘Raise the Roof’ project
It is our plan to carry out this project in three phases.
Hopefully with major funding the second and third phases can be carried out to complete the whole project in the future.
The fundraising project is already underway and we need you to spread the word to family and friends about our exciting project, and together help support the theatre.
The new venue would enable us to continue our 75 year tradition of live theatre in the village.
Please get involved and help to make this project a reality and set the foundations for the future generations to enjoy live theatre in the local community for the next 75 years.

New theatre visitors
Work is underway at the old library building in preparation for converting it to our new theatre. As you can see from the photographs there is much hard work to do before we can open for business.
Recent visitors to the site were the three local councillors who with the help of our Secretary have secured the building as our new home.
We will be moving a lot of equipment over the next few months to our new building, we would appreciate any help you can give us with this operation.
If you feel you can help in any way, please contact our Secretary Andrew Foulkes by phone 07846 089035 or email him at:
